We will finish up our ELA and literacy unit, All About Me.  During this unit, we will be learning about what makes us special, the different parts of our body, our five senses, and our basic needs.

Some of the ELA standards that we will cover are:

-Students will interact with a variety of common types of texts (storybooks, poems, songs).

-With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about details in a text.

-Recognize and name some upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet, especially those in own name.

-Print some upper and lowercase letters (letters in their name).

We will start our second math module, which will last 2 weeks, on two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes.

The standards we will cover are:

-Sort objects and count the number of objects in each category.

-Identify and describe shapes.

- Analyze, compare, and sort objects.

For science, we will continue to observe the autumn.  We will study some animals that we see in fall.

In religion, we will be learning how we thank God for giving us all we have.

During social studies, we will be learning about Thanksgiving and the different ways we all celebrate.  We will learn about the Pilgrims, Native Americans and the first Thanksgiving.
