Welcome to St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Regional School

Lent 2017

The Church Season of Lent has begun.  At our Ash Wednesday Prayer Service, we were reminded that during these forty days of Lent we prepare for the great feast of Easter by praying more, fasting, and sharing.  Father Tony challenged us further.  He suggested that we think of one person in our life who really bugs us, and work on that relationship.  Each child in the school has written his/her name on a foot cut out of purple paper.  They have all been placed around a drawing of Jesus beckoning us to follow Him.  You can see the display in the main lobby opposite room 122.

Follow up to On Care For Our Common Home…

During Catholic Schools Week, we used the encyclical of Pope Francis, On Care For Our Common Home, to inspire us to be better stewards of Mother Earth, our common home.  One follow up to this study is the expansion of the recycling program in the school’s cafeteria.  Besides separating trash from recyclable bottles and cans, we are separating waste that can be composted.  Once broken down, the compost will be added to the soil in the Giving Garden.

You can help in this initiative as well.  You can send in coffee grinds, egg shells, fruit and vegetables, leaves and grass clippings to add to the compost pile.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me by phone or by email at pclagnaz@stbolh.org

Yours truly,
