Scholastic Book Orders are a great resource for fairly inexpensive, age appropriate books for your child. It is also a way to earn books to add to our classroom library. Catalogs will be sent home on a monthly basis. You may order online by going to Scholastic.com and entering ourclass code: RHGYT

MATH
The math standards we will focus on this month include:
-Know number names and the count sequence
-Count to tell the number of objects
-Compare numbers
-Understand simple patterns
-measure using non standard measurements
SCIENCE
This month we will learn about the characteristics of winter, hibernation and
explore the Arctic and Arctic animals
STEM activities and experiments we will perform include:
-build an igloo using marshmallows and a cup
-a snowstorm in a jar
-melting snowman
-salt and ice experiment
-build a bear's den
-blubber experiment
RELIGION
-continue to learn about the work of Jesus; to be kind and caring to others
-learn the Hail Mary Prayer
Daily recital of the Our Father Prayer, Hail Mary Prayer, Bless Us O Lord (snack and lunch),
and the Pledge of Allegiance
